THE NIGERIA NAIRA
The Nigerian Naira is the currency of Nigeria. It was introduced on 1 January 1973, replacing the pound at a rate of 2 naira = 1 pound. This made Nigeria the last ccountry to abandon the £sd currency system. The currency has ₦ as it symbol and NGN as it code. The Nigerian Naira is going down the drain due to it increasing rate of inflation. The inflation rate of the Nigerian Naira is put at over 17%. The Central Bank of Nigeria is the sole issuer of this legal tender.
